Manchester Town Hall & Hyde Bank Farm Wedding

Emma & Chris's wedding was a day of sharp contrasts. From the gothic grandeur of Manchester Town Hall to the rustic countryside of Hyde Bank Farm. Their wedding was great fun from start to finish as Emma was up for all sorts of creative (and documentary) photography.

Carolynne & Gary's Dovestone Engagement Shoot

Had a great time with Carolynne & Gary on their eShoot around Dovestone reservoir earlier this week. It's a location me and Sara spend a fair bit of time just walking and exploring, it has a look and feel of somewhere far away in the Canadian wilderness and yet just 12 miles from the middle of Manchester city centre!

Lorraine & Liz's Civil Partnership at Mere Court, Cheshire

Lorraine and Liz had been together for twelve years, so this was a long time in the planning! Unfortunately they just missed the date for same-sex marriage, but it'd taken twelve years to get here, so they weren't going to wait any longer!

Cheshire Winter Wedding at Shrigley Hall, Cheshire.

Penny & Steve live in London, but both are originally from Cheshire and came back home for a post Christmas ski-themed winter wedding at Shrigley Hall Hotel.

Bizarrely, whilst flicking through our sample albums on our first meeting they independently recognised the best man from one and the groom from another... small world!

Manchester Town Hall and The Radisson Blu Edwardian - City Centre Wedding

The day began with some spirited 'bride getting ready' shots. In charge of the important bit was the very capable hair and makeup magician Clare Ardern - I think the third wedding in a month where we've crossed paths :)

The bride (Lucy) had very strong ideas about her photography, it was to be 'almost' completely documentary style, with the minimal of creative intervention!

Winter Wedding at St.Mary Magdalenes, Sale and Mere Golf Club, Cheshire.

The day started at in relative calm, of Emma and Alistairs house, accompanied of course by yummy bacon butties!

Emma and Alistair then had a really relaxed and friendly church service at St. Mary Magdalene's in Sale, where the vicar turned out to be a family friend of Sara's! All credit has to go to one of Emma's bridesmaids, who had just given birth, by C-section, only a couple of weeks ago!

The rest of the day was to be spent at Mere Golf Club, so we arranged for a few shots at the gatehouse - a signature feature of the newly refurbished golf club, spa and hotel. Being a strict golf club we were quite limited with our Pixie creative 'off-roading' style and flair, as at this venue bride, groom and photographer are chaperoned by a member of staff! In spite of this we used the drama of the circular paved areas to great effect, for some dramatic shots.
